Sprint Triathlon is ideal for those competitors who are new to the sport or those who are just into speed. The venue in the beautiful sea front of Limassol is made to order to offer just that. Also this distance offers a good opportunity for corporate relay participation.

The event is complemented by a Super Sprint triathlon which is a great introduction into the world of triathlons and bridges the gap between novice and Sprint triathlons.

COVID-19 guidance

Covid-19 guidance for safe racing

We have created a guidance information for Events Participants to ensure that you have a safe and easy return to competition in a Covid-19 secure manner and in line with government regulations.

In addition, any measures of the Ministry of Health will apply. Any change in the measures should be observed by the participants and spectators.

Because of the need to run the event in a Covid-19 Secure manner, it means that your experience will be different to what you would normally expect.

There are three simple actions we must all do to keep on protecting each other: Wash hands, Cover face, Make space.

We do our best to deliver an event following these guidelines, focused on social distancing and increased hygiene.

You must do your best to maintain a socially distanced ‘group of one’ at all times.

Before the event

  • Everyone attending an event must complete and submit a pre-event health declaration two days prior to the event start, found at the tab “Declaration Form” which can be shared on request with the ministry of health.
  • The event briefing and safety information will be available only on the event website.
  • Registration to the event is only allowed online until the registration end date 15/10/2020, with no later or on the day registration.
  • A SAFE PASS, PCR or RAPID test of 72 hours prior to the race is mandatory for all participants.

On the event day

  • Where possible, keep two metres apart from other people throughout your time at the event venue. Where it is not possible to be two metres away, keep at least one metre apart and take precautions to reduce the risk of transmission.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the event, wash your hands and try not to touch public areas such as barriers. Hand sanitisers will be available at the race area.
  • Arrive and leave the site at the times you will be given in due time. We will only allow participants on site at specific times to manage the flow of people to meet social distancing requirements. So, support the smooth running of the event by sticking to your allocated times.

Chip pickup

If there is a queue, maintain social distancing and minimise touch points. You must wear a protective mask.

Transition Area

Enter the transition area only when allowed, follow any prescribed flows and minimise your stay inside the area.

Start

Arrive at the start at your allocated time keeping in mind the social distancing. Athletes must wear a protective mask before the race. The protective mask will be removed at the moment right before the start. There will be a bucket for the disposal of the protective masks.

During the race

During the race overtaking is possible but social distancing of at least 2 metres should be maintained whilst doing so.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will not be provided. We recommend that you bring your own snacks, gels and bottles of fluids and carry them with you.

Finish

At the finish remove your own timing chip and place it in the bucket provided. Proceed through the post-finish area to minimise crowding at the finish.

Awards

At the awards only the awarded athletes wearing their protective masks should be present to minimise groups gathering and touchpoints.
Do not congregate with others and be sure to adhere to social distancing rules.
To limit contact with other participants and surfaces, prepare to leave site as soon as you have completed your event.

Spectators

We are discouraging spectators from attending the event to support social distancing requirements. However, it is acknowledged that in some instances you may need someone to accompany you. If there is the need for this, you should not attend with more than one spectator, who must always maintain social distancing from other people and refrain from being in high traffic areas such as registration.
